Lions and tigers and bears oh my!

So much has happend since I wrote last. June 12 our sis-in-law arrived with only one thing going wrong and that was she used google map and it sent her the wrong way and added hours to her trip. Sat. June 13 we went to the open air market and then she and I went to some shops and to the art gallery Then we went to the driftwood art show and then to the beach to watch kite boarders. Sun. June 14 we went to the game park. these are a few of the pics she took. We took two loaves of bread and all the animals try to get in the car to be fed. Her dog Lady was fine Kelly was ok this time. Last time we went she tried to go through the window at the animals. The best part was the buffalo. last time I was in the front seat and a great big one tried to lick me. This time I let D sit in front and sure enough the same one tried to kiss her. we agree the toung looks about 12 inches long when its comeing at your face and you are trying to escape it. The rest of the week was a little sight seeing and a great visit. She left at 3:30 am on Fri. June 19. We did not get up to see her off. but she made it to her next stop near Medford OR by early afternoon and after her visit there she heads to CA. We had a quiet fathers day but R was very happy cause he heard from all his kids. Till next time.

went for a ride

Today R and I went for a drive. There were deer everywhere! I think they were on every road and in every yard. The first few we saw I thought were fake till they finally moved. They were not in groups like we usually see them and they were not in fields, mostly they were just eating grass in peoples yards. One was in a yard and only a few feet away a man was working on his car but they didn't seem to care that the other was there. I love living in a place that a deer might just come up and say hi. I don't think they will come to our house since we live in town but I would never take them for granted if they did come visit. I guess the drive today made us really appreciate where we live. I hope everyone has a nature day to enjoy sometimes.

got what to say

On June 11, 1991 I started a journal and I wrote nearly everyday for 2 and 1/2 years. well R and I have moved ALOT since then and so these books have been packed away all this time. I had not thought about them in a long time. Well I found them a few days ago and decided to read them. I wrote alot of good memories but I also sometimes wrote the bad things. I remember most of the good things so that was fun but I barley recognize my self as the writter. It was really funny to read some of the things I thought were funny then or that I did not like or that made me mad. I know we grow and change every day but to go back and see your self is really an eyeopener. Most of the things that made me mad then would barley get a raised eyebrow now. The things I thought were funny or good like TV shows and such I still would like at least most are still reruns on late night cable. I think I should be maybe a little proud of myself because when I was soooo mad I still did not write anything I am ashamed of. I may not feel the same way today about alot of things but if anyone read my old journals at least I would not be embaressed. I know several people who keep journals and write down important events and memories and after looking back I may have to take it up again. maybe next time I'll share some history with you.

God is good. I was just thinking about how sometimes a prayer is answered in a way we did not expect. I had been praying for an answer to a problem but the answer did not seem to be happening then we recieved some unexpected news and problem solved. Sometimes I forget to be greatful for the little things as well as the big things so He reminds me every so often. I hpoe everyone of you gets a special blessing to remind you too. till next time

reality tv bites

R and I watch American Idol. It is the only "reality" show we do watch and we only start watching after they pick the top 20. The last 3 years (thats how long we have watched) we always picked the winner TILL this year. America got it so wrong. Adam was the most talented even though Kris was more our type of singer I still believe the wrong guy won. We did not watch the year America voted off a woman (Jennifer Hudson)who won an oscar for Dream Girls.
I hope Adam proves he is a great talant and everyone realizes they were WRONG just like they were wrong about Jennifer.
OK I'm done venting. We are so excited our sis-in-law D is coming to visit next month and we get to show her around. We get to go to the Safari park. Kelly does not like when the animals try to get in the car and when the lion roard she growled back. She wanted to play with some wolves and she liked the bears so she is as much of a show as the park animals. We have alot to see here. I'll let you know how the visit goes.
R and I are ok mostly. T has been taking our blood preasure every day to keep track for our Doc. and it looks like both of us need better meds. We go back in about 2 weeks. Till next time.

internet interruption

well I never said this great house we live in had modern conveniences. We had a storm and phone and internet went out. Not unusual except the power stayed on not even a flicker. We called the co. and they finally sent the guy to fix it. Turns out they had the filter for our wireless in the wrong place and two wires for the phone were outside, exposed and got fried. No fire thank God. Anyway the guy fixed it really fast and said it should never have been turned on like that. I think we might need the landlord to get all wireing checked.
We have a haunted faucet in our bathroom. R goes to bed before me and when I go the faucet is running so I got after him for leaving it on. Turns out he did not, it turns itself on. We ran a few experiments and it almost only happens at night no matter who turns it off so we always need to check it twice. Very wierd. So far thats the worst of it but we have only been here awhile maybe the house is waiting to show us more later. This is where the twilight zone music should play.
The good thing is that all the days I did not blog I had a real excuse. I hope its fixed now this is my first try since then. till next time.

the BIG picture

well this is how I looked in Feb. of 2008. now I do not have a currant pic, and to me I don't look alot differant, but I just saw the Doc. and I HAVE LOST 56 POUNDS!!!! I know we should not brag but this is something I have really worked at. I intend to keep trying till I like how I look. It took 15 months to loose it and the Doc said I am doing it right. I have kind of stopped lately but hope I start again soon. Exercise is a challange because I have very bad legs from edema and nuropathy but I have an old video called chair dancing and it is for people like me in wheel chairs. R might do it with me sometimes and T said she would but she works so not much time. I will try to get a currant pic if T ever finds time. More soon.

boring?

When I started this blog I said to myself "self" you will write every day. then every day happened and I realized we lead a boring (to other people) life. when I read other blogs people tell about their children or events in their lives and I enjoy reading about those things. Now our day went: we got up, we read awhile, we watced TV, we went to bed. so now everyone is caught up till today. I don't have a camera right now or I could send pics too. I have not learned to use the blog tools yet so when I do maybe it will get better.

Kellys first parade

Yesterday there was a parade here in Sequim for the irriigation festival. The main st is only half a block from the house so R and I and our dog kelly went to watch. Everything was going well, many people had their dogs, the bagpipes went by and kelly tried to go with them. We believe she has some scotty in her, just kidding. A guy in a giant cup costume went by and she growled when he came toward us with cupons. We didn't get one. Well then a pirate float came by and they shot off a cannon or something and poor kelly was half way home before we realized she had pulled out of her collar. She stopped when I called but she was shaking so bad R took her home. Now if you know kelly you know she is a fairly big dog of about 80 lbs or more but she shook like a poor little mini dog. I really felt bad for her. She stayed jumpy the rest of the day too. The fireworks later that night did not bother her but we were close enough to see them from our yard but could not really hear them. So that was kellys first and probably last parade.

my first crumb

Well I follow blogs by other family members and I love them all so I am going to try it myself. We (R&me) are living in Sequim, WA and sharing a house with youngest daughter and son-in-law (T&D). The house is big almost like a duplex except we share a kitchen but we each have a livingroom, bathroom and we have an office room and they have 2 xtra bedrooms so we love it.
Some of you might not have heard that we left our last job. not by our choice, long story. thats why we live here now. my health is not always good, diabetes and a few other things so I have started the process of getting disability.
This first entry is to try this I hpoe to learn as I go and find some great (interesting) things to write about. Till next time.
